The standard is going-out clothes: dresses, co-ords, heels or dressy sandals. Footwear matters more than people expect. Flat sandals are acceptable at most venues, but heels — even low block heels — signal that you've made an effort. If you're heading to VIP areas or boat parties with a smarter crowd, dress it up.
Castle Club has the strictest door on the strip. Their team is looking for a polished look: no sportswear, no flip-flops, no beach coverups. Circus and Bedrock are slightly more relaxed but still expect going-out attire.
For Men
Smart-casual is the target. Chinos or well-fitted jeans with a shirt (open collar is fine), or a clean T-shirt that isn't a generic tourist print. Trainers are broadly accepted now — clean white trainers in good condition work at every club on the strip. What doesn't work: sports shorts, vests worn as tops, football shirts, or anything that looks like beachwear.
At Aqua Beach Club and the outdoor spots on the Nissi strip, the standard relaxes a bit — fitted shorts and a decent shirt is acceptable during the earlier part of the evening. By midnight, the same rules apply as anywhere else.
The Flip-Flop Question
This comes up constantly: can you wear flip-flops? Technically, no, at most clubs. Practically, you might get away with smart leather sandals. If you're genuinely unsure, pack a pair of clean trainers and change into them for the evening. Your feet will thank you too — the strip involves a lot of walking.

What to Buy If You Forgot Something
The strip itself has shops selling going-out wear — open until midnight or later in peak season. Prices are tourist-level but the range is surprisingly good for a quick fix. Several shops specialise in exactly this: women's going-out dresses €15–35, men's shirts €12–25.
The market area near the square has cheaper options if you need basics. The large Aphrodite supermarket on Nissi Avenue stocks toiletries, deodorant, and some basics — not clothing, but useful for the practical side of a night out.
Practical Tips for the Heat
Pack lightweight fabrics that breathe: linen, cotton, jersey. Synthetic club wear that looks great in a UK bedroom can become unwearable at 32°C. Bring a portable fan — they're sold everywhere on the strip for €2–3 and you'll see half the dancefloor using them.
Deodorant capacity matters more than you'd think. Pack extra or buy on arrival. The big supermarkets near the strip (Aphrodite and Lidl) stock everything you'd need.
The strip is about a kilometre long and most clubs charge to get in — budget around €15–20 entrance per night. Some nights have guest-list deals through hotel concierges or reps that waive or reduce entry.

If you're planning multiple nights out, pack at least one outfit per club night plus one spare. Doing laundry on a party holiday is not ideal, but most hotels have a laundry service or there are laundrettes near the strip open from 8am.
For women: one dressier outfit (for a boat party or the smarter clubs), two or three going-out outfits for general club nights, and a pair of flat sandals that still look intentional. You don't need to overpack — the strip shops have you covered for anything forgotten.
For men: two pairs of chinos or dark jeans, three shirts or smart T-shirts, one clean pair of white trainers, one pair of smart shoes if you want VIP optionality. Avoid overpacking footwear — it's always the heaviest thing in the case.
One final tip: dress to sweat. Whatever you wear will be wet by midnight. Darker colours hide it better, lighter fabrics dry faster. Plan accordingly.
