The food is fine, the prices are high. Expect to pay €15–25 for a main course — burgers, salads, pasta, and grilled fish. The quality has improved significantly in the last few years, but you're paying a location premium of about 40–50% versus the same food 200 metres from the beach.

Not to be confused with Vassos Fish Harbour near the town centre. This is a family-run taverna on the road that runs parallel to Nissi Beach — slightly inland, shaded by vines, genuinely no-frills. The souvla on Sundays (noon onwards) is some of the best on this stretch of coast.

The quieter eastern end of Nissi Beach has a cluster of smaller bars that serve food that's a step up from the main beach clubs without the full restaurant formality. Toasted sandwiches, souvlaki wraps, salads, and fresh fruit plates — €6–12 per person. Good for a mid-afternoon lunch when you don't want to commit to a sit-down restaurant.

The most cost-effective approach to beach food: stop at a supermarket on the way. The Aphrodite Supermarket between the town centre and Nissi Beach stocks excellent fresh bread, halloumi, olives, deli meats, fruit, and cold drinks. A beach picnic for two costs €10–15 and is genuinely better eating than most beach club menus.

Large bottles of water are €0.50–0.80 at a supermarket vs €3–5 at the beach. This alone pays for the detour.

A local favourite slightly off the tourist path — ask a taxi driver or hotel reception to point you toward Petros. Traditional Cypriot family cooking: stuffed vine leaves, kolokasi, kleftiko, and a mixed grill that arrives on a wooden board and feeds two people for under €25. No English menu (though staff speak English) — point at the specials board and trust the process.

The hotels at Nissi Beach all offer breakfast buffets (typically included in the room rate, or €12–18 if paying separately). If you're not hotel-breakfasting, options are limited immediately at Nissi — the best move is to eat breakfast at a café in the town centre before heading to the beach:

After a day at Nissi Beach, most visitors return to central Ayia Napa for dinner — the 25-minute walk along the coastal path is pleasant in the evening. Taxis are €5–7.

Mid-range (€15–25): Vassos Taverna (Nissi area branch) — proper sit-down Cypriot cooking, reliable value.

Upmarket (€30–45): The beach resort hotels (Nissi Beach Resort, Atlantica) have full-service restaurants open to non-guests. Booking ahead is essential — the restaurants here are genuinely good but cater primarily to hotel guests.

The water taxi is worth doing at least once — arriving at Nissi by sea is a better way to experience the beach than pulling up in a taxi from the road.
