Ayia Napa Bus Routes — The Complete Guide (2026)
Quick Answer — Which Bus Do I Need?
| Your journey | Take this |
|---|---|
| Larnaca ↔ Ayia Napa / Paralimni | OSEA Route 711 (budget) or the separate Intercity direct service (faster, pricier) |
| Ayia Napa → Protaras, Konnos, Cape Greco, Pernera, Paralimni | OSEA Route 101 |
| Paralimni → Protaras, Konnos, Cape Greco, Ayia Napa | OSEA Route 102 |
| Getting around Ayia Napa resort itself | OSEA Routes 201/202 (local circle lines) |
| Larnaca Airport → anywhere | No direct bus exists. Taxi or transfer to a bus stop first — see below |
The OSEA Network
| Route | Covers | Fare | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 711 | Paralimni ↔ Kapparis ↔ Protaras ↔ Konnos ↔ Agia Napa ↔ Agia Napa Marina ↔ Xylofagou ↔ Ormideia ↔ Larnaca ↔ Metropolis Mall | €2.00 standard / €3.00 night (21:00–04:00) | ~150 min end-to-end; 10/day one direction, 9/day the other. Full timetable → |
| 101 | Ayia Napa Waterpark → Cape Greco → Konnos → Protaras → Pernera → Paralimni | Same OSEA standard fare | ~75 min journey, departures roughly every 10–20 minutes from early morning to past midnight |
| 102 | Paralimni → Pernera → Protaras → Konnos → Cape Greco → Ayia Napa Waterpark | Same OSEA standard fare | The reverse of 101, same frequency pattern |
| 201 / 202 | Ayia Napa West and East Circle Lines | Same OSEA standard fare | Local routes around the resort itself — we haven't independently verified their stops or timetables yet, so treat this as "they exist" rather than a usable schedule |
Overcrowding note: OSEA itself advises against using Route 711 for short hops between Paralimni/Protaras/Konnos and Agia Napa — use 102 or 101 instead, since 711 gets overcrowded on that specific stretch while carrying longer-distance Larnaca passengers.
Fares & Payment
- Standard single fare: €2.00 (04:00–21:00)
- Night fare: €3.00 (21:00–04:00)
- Children 6–18: 50% discount (ages 13–18 need ID or a Cyprus secondary-school student card to claim it)
- Payment: Cash only for paper tickets — notes up to €20, €50 notes are not accepted — or a Motion smart card/e-wallet. Debit and credit cards are not accepted on board.
Bring cash or get a Motion card before you need one — this isn't a tap-and-go system.
OSEA vs. Intercity Buses — Don't Confuse Them
A second company, Intercity Buses Cyprus Ltd, runs its own separate network — most relevantly a direct Larnaca–Ayia Napa–Paralimni service and a Nicosia–Ayia Napa–Paralimni service. These are not OSEA routes, don't use OSEA fares, and don't stop at OSEA's stops.
| OSEA Route 711 | Intercity Larnaca–Ayia Napa–Paralimni | |
|---|---|---|
| Larnaca departure point | Metropolis Mall | Nikolaidis Building, Archiepiskopou Makariou III Avenue at Filiou Tsigaridi |
| Journey time | ~150 min (full route) | ~75 min (direct) |
| Fare | €2.00 / €3.00 night | €5.00 one-way |
| Website | osea.com.cy | intercity-buses.com |
Intercity also runs Nicosia–Ayia Napa–Paralimni at €6.00 one-way, with some departures serving Protaras stops and others not — confirm with Intercity directly if that's your route.
One domain to avoid: intercity.com.cy (note: not intercity-buses.com) has shown up in older guides as a source for OSEA information. It isn't — it's a different, unverified domain with no confirmed link to either operator.
Getting to a Bus From Larnaca Airport
Neither OSEA nor Intercity serves Larnaca Airport terminal directly. For either network, you need a taxi first:
- For OSEA Route 711: taxi to Metropolis Mall (€15–20, 15–20 min)
- For Intercity's direct service: taxi to the Nikolaidis Building (similar cost/time)
If that two-leg journey doesn't appeal, see the airport transport options guide for taxis, shared shuttles, and the Kapnos Airport Shuttle — all of which go airport-to-hotel directly, which no bus currently does.
Practical Notes
- No bank cards anywhere on OSEA buses. Carry cash or arrange a Motion card before you're standing at a bus stop needing one.
- Seasonal timetables. The schedules referenced here are OSEA's 25 May–31 October 2026 summer timetable. OSEA has run winter schedules before (on similar times), but don't assume this year's winter timetable repeats without checking.
- Beach stops aren't always at the beach. Where OSEA names a stop like "Cape Greco" or "Konnos," that's typically on the coastal road above, not beach level — budget a short walk down.
- Verify before relying on any single-use timetable. Route numbers, stops and fares here reflect our best current research (full sourcing in our transport research register if you want to see exactly what's confirmed vs. still open) — OSEA and Intercity's own sites are the final word.
