1. Who we are

GetAyiaNapa (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website getayianapa.com — an informational travel planning guide for Ayia Napa, Cyprus. We are the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this site.

2. What data we collect and why

This site does not collect personal data directly. We do not run a user accounts system, store form submissions, or build profiles. However, with your consent, we load third-party scripts that collect usage data on our behalf:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — Collects anonymised data about pages visited, time on site, and traffic sources so we can understand which content is useful. Data is processed by Google LLC. No personally identifiable information is sent.
• Google Ads — Measures ad campaign effectiveness by recording whether visitors who click our ads subsequently use the planning tool.
• Microsoft Clarity — Records anonymised heatmaps and session replays so we can improve the site experience. IP addresses are masked. Data is processed by Microsoft Corporation.
• Google AdSense — Displays advertising. Google may personalise ads based on your browsing history across other sites.
• Travelpayouts Drive — Sets an affiliate attribution cookie so that bookings made through partner links on this site (such as Booking.com) are correctly attributed to us. The cookie does not identify you personally. Data is processed by Travelpayouts SIA.

None of the above scripts load unless you click “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you decline, no third-party tracking cookies are set.

3. Affiliate links

This site contains affiliate links to third-party booking platforms including Booking.com (via Travelpayouts), GetYourGuide, and Viator. When you click these links and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. These platforms have their own privacy policies governing the data they collect when you visit their sites.

4. Legal basis for processing

• Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — all analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking cookies are loaded only after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner.
• Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — basic server-level access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider (Replit) for security and infrastructure purposes. We do not access these logs routinely.

5. Data retention

We do not store personal data on our own servers. Retention periods for data held by third-party processors are governed by their own policies:

• Google Analytics: 14 months (default, configurable)
• Microsoft Clarity: 13 months
• Travelpayouts Drive cookie: 30 days

6. Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — change your cookie choice at any time via the link in our footer
